Amanda

Veterinary Technician

Amanda graduated from Seneca College’s Veterinary Technician program in 2021, and soon thereafter joined our clinic family in May. She has always had a strong affinity to rabbits, having grown up with them, igniting the flame to pursue a career in exotic medicine. She is eager to be kept on her toes, trying and learning new things about the variety of animals who fly, crawl, slither, and hop through our doors everyday. Amanda studied photography in university, which still plays an active role in her life, even integrating animals as her subjects from time to time. When she isn’t caring for our patients, she is either out enjoying a meal with friends, walking a trail, or at home with her two rabbits Opino and Clover.
Nikki

Veterinary Technician

We are welcoming veterinary technician Nikki as one of the newest members of our clinic family! Nikki previously worked with cats and dogs, but it was her lifelong passion for exotic animals that led her to our clinic. Nikki grew up around many different exotic animals and she is especially fond of and involved in the avian and reptile communities. She is very eager to learn new things and provide the best care to our patients. Nikki loves spending her free time cuddling and interacting with her feathered, scaly and furry babies at home.

Joner graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2019. He then completed the Veterinary Assistant program at Seneca College in 2020, and joined our clinic in September of the same year. In 2022, he decided to return to school to complete the veterinary technician program and received his RVT status in August 2024. In his free time, he enjoys bodybuilding, hiking, and playing basketball.

Kate

Exotic animals have been a life-long passion for Kate. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in psychology, Kate decided to live her dream of working with exotic animals by joining our clinic family in 2019 as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. In 2021, Kate was promoted to Office Manager then officially became our Practice Manager in 2024. In addition to overseeing staff scheduling, Kate manages other tasks that streamline the clinic’s workflow, providing essential support to both our team and clients. At home, Kate and her family enjoy the company of a rambunctious Jack Russell Terrier named Theo; a rabbit named Bear; a chatty cockatiel named Cooper; a senior Amazon parrot named Pierro; four crested geckos named Mango, Peach, Banana, and Strawberry; and a Bauer’s chameleon gecko named Dill.

Caitlin has been a member of our clinic family since 2012. Her days at our clinic are always busy and never boring. She assists our doctors and veterinary technicians in appointments and with treatments. She enjoys working with her colleagues and feels like she has learned a lot from them. Caitlin also ensures our clinic is well-stocked with the supplies we need and that our clinic is clean and sanitized. She is always ready for whatever the day may bring! At home Caitlin has two budgies, Kanye and Keek. They love flying laps around her apartment and narrowly dodging her head for fun. She has recently adopted a senior cat named Mushroom, whose hobbies are demanding cuddles and napping in inconvenient places.

Marika

Marika has always had an affinity for animals and loves the opportunity to meet clients and patients while working reception. While growing up, Marika has always had variety of pets in her family – including cats, fish, rats and chinchillas. She currently spends her time outside the clinic creating art and hanging out with her chinchilla Trixie.

Ken

Veterinary Assistant

Every day is different. That’s one of the things Ken, one of the newest members of our clinic family, loves about her job as a veterinary assistant. Ken’s busy days involve a variety of duties including taking care of our boarders and assisting with appointments. She says she enjoys meeting new animals, learning and being challenged by our doctors, veterinary technicians and her fellow veterinary assistants. Working with animals in the veterinary field is a vocation for Ken, who grew up with numerous pets; including dogs, cats, chickens, pigs and even a few insects! Ken also cites British broadcaster and naturalist Sir David Attenborough’s work as having a major influence on her life. She says she has learned the importance of compassion, patience and empathy for nature through watching his programs. Ken hopes to one day further her life’s work with animals by becoming either a veterinarian or marine biologist. In her free time, Ken enjoys reading, drawing and playing the guitar and drums.

Natasha

Veterinary Assistant

With a deep love for animals, it should come as no surprise that Natasha is currently in her third year of studying zoology at the University of Guelph. She credits her life-long fascination with animals to always being surrounded by them; whether it be farm, domestic or exotic. Natasha says her favourite animal changes every few months and currently the grey wolf tops her list! Natasha wants to dedicate her life to helping animals and aspires to becoming a veterinarian. She is a recent addition to our clinic family and says she learns so much every day while working alongside our doctors and veterinary technicians. In her free time, Natasha enjoys spending time with her dog Romeo, reading or working on any project she can get her hands on as she is rarely found sitting still.
