Rain? What rain? The damp February weather didn’t deter bird enthusiasts from coming out to see our own Dr. Rick Axelson speak at last night’s meeting of the Budgerigar and Foreign Bird Society (BFBS). Rick led a question and answer session for the curious audience members who were eager to learn more about the health and well-being of their birds. Rick discussed a wide range of topics, including lead poisoning, nutrition, medical advances in sexing birds and how to keep birds warm in case of a power outage during the cold winter months. Rick and all of us at The Links Road Animal & Bird Clinic would like to thank BFBS president Deirdre Graham and the Budgerigar and Foreign Bird Society for welcoming Rick to their meeting and their warm hospitality on a chilly winter’s night!
The Budgerigar and Foreign Bird Society meets the first Thursday of every month (except July and August). Please check out their web site for more information.
